Welcome to the digital home of the Laboratory for Computer-Human Intelligence.
We develop systems at the interface of computer and human intelligence. Computers are incredibly powerful at performing highly structured and repetitive tasks very quickly - your smart phone can perform BILLIONS of multiplications a second, while a human may (consciously) perform one or two multiplications a second. Humans are very talented at performing complex tasks that form the core of our (seemingly) subjective experiences; sensing emotions, cracking jokes, detecting talent, and inferring motivation.
With the raw power of computers and the complexity of human experiences, our lab seeks to explore the landscape of computational systems in our everyday lives.
